The Call to Excellence
Mastery & Dedication
Scripture
Colossians 3:17
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Devotion
Whatever your work is—whether grand or humble—do it with excellence for God's glory. This does not mean perfection or burnout. It means sincere effort, full attention, genuine care. A humble job done excellently is better than a grand job done carelessly. Excellence is showing respect for the work and for the people affected by it. Scripture teaches that whatever you do, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus. Your work is a form of worship, an offering to God and to others.
Today’s Step
Choose one task you've been phoning in. Today, do it with full attention and genuine effort. Experience what excellence feels like.
Prayer
God, help me to bring excellence to whatever I do. Help me to not cut corners or phone it in, but to give my genuine effort. Help me to understand that my work, done well and offered to You, is a form of worship and service.
