“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Devotion
Gratitude in all circumstances is spiritual maturity. Not just gratitude for good things but gratitude even in difficulty. This does not mean being grateful for suffering but grateful to God despite suffering. Scripture teaches that giving thanks in all circumstances is God's will. When you can say "thank You, God" even in hardship, you have reached a place of deep trust and faith. Gratitude deepens your relationship with God. It shifts your perspective from what is wrong to what is right, from what is missing to what is present.
Today’s Step
In your current difficulty, what can you be grateful for? How can you thank God even as you struggle? Today, practice gratitude in hard circumstances.
Prayer
God, help me to give thanks in all circumstances. Help me to be grateful even in difficulty. Help gratitude to deepen my trust in You. Help me to rejoice, to pray, and to give thanks continually.
