Listening is a lost art. Everyone wants to be heard but few really listen. Scripture teaches that wisdom involves listening. When someone speaks, listen—not to respond but to understand. Seek knowledge through listening. You will learn more from paying attention to others than from being heard. Be a wise listener.

Who needs to be heard in September? Can you listen without planning your response? Can you understand before being understood?

God, help me to listen well. Help me to silence my own agenda and hear others. Help me to seek understanding. Help my listening to be a gift.
