Beauty in Decline
Seasons & Cycles
Scripture
Ecclesiastes 3:11
“"He has made everything beautiful in its time."”
Devotion
October's leaves are glorious precisely because they are dying. Autumn is beautiful because it is temporary. Scripture teaches that God makes all things beautiful in their time. The beauty of October is not despite its decline but because of it. There is beauty in ending. There is poignancy in finishing. Do not miss October's particular beauty.
Today’s Step
Where is beauty in October's decline? Can you appreciate what is fading?
Prayer
God, help me to see beauty in October. Help me to appreciate decline. Help me to not rush past this season's particular gift.
