Service in Season
Generosity & Justice
Scripture
Galatians 5:13
“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”
Devotion
October's approach of holidays makes service visible. Scripture teaches that freedom is for service, not indulgence. In October, serve. Whether through soup kitchens, mentoring, helping neighbors, or listening to the lonely—serve. Service in season is particularly meaningful. Let your October service change someone's experience of the coming cold.
Today’s Step
How will you serve in October? To whom will you give time and attention?
Prayer
God, help me to serve. Help my freedom to express itself in care for others. Help my service to matter.
