The Gift of Time

Stewardship & Present Moment

Scripture

Ephesians 5:16

“Therefore be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”

Devotion

Time is the only resource you cannot get back. Money can be earned again, health can often be regained, but time—once gone—is gone forever. God calls you to be wise stewards of your time. This is not about frantic busyness but about intentional living. It means distinguishing between what is urgent and what is important, and choosing the important. It means being present to people when you are with them, fully engaged in the moment. It means using your time in ways that matter eternally. The present moment is the only moment where life actually happens. Not the past, not the future, but now. This is both humbling and liberating.

Today’s Step

How have you been stewarding your time? Where is it being wasted? Choose one change. Reclaim time for what truly matters. Protect that time jealously.

Prayer

God of time, help me to steward my time wisely. Help me to distinguish between what is urgent and what is important, and to choose carefully. Help me to be present to people when I am with them, fully engaged in the moment. Let me use my time in ways that matter eternally, knowing I cannot get it back.
