Embracing the Seasons
Acceptance & Rhythm
Scripture
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot.”
Devotion
Life has seasons. Planting seasons, harvest seasons, fallow seasons, difficult seasons, joyful seasons. Not every season is comfortable, but every season has its purpose. Scripture teaches from Ecclesiastes that there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity. You do not get to choose your season, but you do get to choose how you respond to it. What season are you in now? How can you respond to it with biblical wisdom?
Today’s Step
Name the season you're in. Not the season you wish you were in, but the actual season you're experiencing. How can you cooperate with this season rather than fight it?
Prayer
God of seasons, help me to embrace whatever season I'm in without fighting against it. Help me to plant when it's planting time, to harvest when it's harvest time, to rest when it's time to rest. Help me to trust the rhythm of my life.
