Living Your Convictions

Integrity & Alignment

Scripture

James 1:22-24

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.”

Devotion

Integrity is being the same person in public and in private, aligning your life with your beliefs. It requires constant practice and vigilance. You are watched more closely than you realize. Your consistency or inconsistency teaches people everything they need to know about your character. Scripture teaches that we are not merely to listen to God's word but to do what it says. If you believe something, live it. If you cannot live it, examine whether you really believe it.

Today’s Step

Is there a gap between your stated values and how you actually live? Identify one area. Take one step to close the gap.

Prayer

God, help me to live what I believe. Help me to be the same person whether I'm being watched or not. Help me to align my life with Your truth. Give me courage to live my convictions even when it's difficult.
