Growing Roots
Foundation & Stability
Scripture
Colossians 2:6-7
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”
Devotion
A tree does not grow tall because it reaches upward but because it grows downward. Deep roots provide stability, nourishment, and resilience. Scripture teaches that we are to be rooted in Christ, established in faith, built up in Him. This rootedness is not restriction but the foundation for all growth and strength. When you are rooted in God's truth, in prayer, in community, in spiritual practice, you can weather any storm. Growth without roots is fragile; roots without growth is stagnation. You need both. Tend to your roots. They matter more than you realize.
