Growth Toward

Vision & Purpose

Scripture

Philippians 3:12-14

“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Devotion

Growth requires vision—a sense of what you are growing toward. Scripture teaches that Paul pressed on toward the goal God set before him, not distracted by past failures or present difficulties. He had clear direction and purpose. Your growth is not random but directional. You are growing toward becoming who God created you to be. This requires intentionality, focus, and commitment. Know your direction. Press toward it with focus and faith. Let your growth have purpose and meaning.

Today’s Step

What are you growing toward? What is God calling you to become? Define one goal for your growth and take one step toward it today.

Prayer

God, help me to have a clear vision of who You are calling me to become. Help me to press on toward that goal with intention and perseverance. Help me to not be distracted by the past but to strain toward what is ahead. Let my growth have purpose and direction.
