Righteous Planning
Integrity & Character
Scripture
Isaiah 32:8
“But the noble man devises noble plans, and by noble deeds he stands.”
Devotion
Character shapes planning. A noble heart makes noble plans. A corrupt heart makes corrupt plans. This is not complicated; it follows naturally. If you are at your core concerned with your own advantage and willing to exploit others to get it, your plans will reflect that. If you are at your core concerned with what is right and just, your plans will be noble—oriented toward genuine good, not the appearance of it. What is remarkable about this proverb is that it suggests that when you behave nobly, you do not need to defend yourself or prove yourself. You "stand" by your deeds. Your integrity is evident and does not require explanation. People know who you are by how you act over time.
Today’s Step
What kind of plans are you making right now? Are they noble? Would you be proud to have them examined? If not, what needs to change?
Prayer
Lord, make me a noble person who devises noble plans. Let my character be such that my deeds speak for themselves. I want to be someone who stands firm, not because I defend myself, but because my integrity is evident in how I live.
