The Godly vs. The Wicked
Character & Consequence
Scripture
Proverbs 10:29
“The way of the Lord is a refuge for the righteous, but it is the ruin of those who do evil.”
Devotion
Same path, opposite outcomes depending on your orientation. For the person oriented toward righteousness—toward goodness, justice, and the fear of the Lord—God's way is shelter and protection. For the person oriented toward evil—toward deception, harm, and self-aggrandizement—that same path becomes their undoing. It is not that God is punishing them; it is that the way evil operates is inherently destructive. A lie, followed by another lie, followed by an attempt to cover the deception—this path naturally leads to complexity and exposure. A righteous path, however—one characterized by honesty, integrity, and alignment with God's nature—naturally leads to stability and peace. The same reality reveals two truths: those who have ordered their lives around God's way find refuge in it, while those who have not find it their ruin.
Today’s Step
In what area are you still relying on deception or half-truth? What would it cost to step fully into honesty?
Prayer
Lord, align my way with Your way. I want to be someone for whom Your path is refuge, not ruin. Give me the courage to abandon the deceptions I have been relying on and to build my life on the stable foundation of truth.
