“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Devotion
Rest is restorative. When you are weary, when you are carrying burdens, when you are exhausted, rest brings renewal. Scripture teaches that Jesus invites us to come and rest. Not later when everything is settled but now. You do not have to solve everything before you rest. You can lay down your burden, step away from responsibility, and be restored. Rest is not selfish; it is necessary. Come and rest.
Today’s Step
What are you weary from? What burden can you lay down? Today, rest. Really rest. Let yourself be restored.
Prayer
God, help me to come to You and rest. Help me to lay down my burdens. Help me to not carry what I was not meant to carry. Help me to be restored through rest.
