Purpose in Work
Focus & Intention
Scripture
Colossians 3:23
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
Devotion
Work—whether paid or unpaid, school or vocation—is sacred. Scripture teaches that all work is ultimately for the Lord. When you approach your September work—your job, your studies, your responsibilities—as service to Christ, it transforms. You are not just working for paychecks or grades but for God. This gives dignity to ordinary tasks and meaning to daily effort. Work well. Work for the Lord.
Today’s Step
What work are you doing in September? How can you do it as service to Christ? Today, approach one task as though working directly for Jesus.
Prayer
God, help me to see my work as service to You. Help me to work with whole heart. Help my daily effort to matter eternally. Help me to serve Christ through my labor.
