Scripture
Proverbs 22:29
“Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before obscure officials.”
Devotion
Excellence matters. Scripture teaches that skill and excellence open doors, create opportunities, invite responsibility. In September, pursue excellence—not perfectionism but consistent quality in what you do. Whether it's work, studies, ministry, or craft, do it well. Not for recognition but because excellence honors God and serves others. Excellence is a form of love.
Today’s Step
Where in September can you pursue excellence? What task deserves your best effort? Today, commit to one area of excellence.
Prayer
God, help me to pursue excellence in my work. Help me to not settle for mediocrity. Help my quality and skill to serve others and honor You. Help excellence to flow from love.
