Faithful in Small Things
Loyalty & Trust
Scripture
Luke 16:10
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.”
Devotion
Faithfulness is not something that suddenly appears when the stakes get high. It is built through small, consistent acts of integrity when no one is watching and nothing is at stake. The person who is careless with small commitments will be careless with large ones. The person who shows up faithfully to small responsibilities develops the character that can be trusted with significant ones. This is not primarily about earning more responsibility; it is about building a character of reliability and trustworthiness. People sense whether someone's yes means yes and their no means no. That sense comes from observing how they handle the little things.
Today’s Step
Examine your small commitments: to people, to practices, to promises. Where are you being unfaithful? Choose one small commitment and follow through on it completely today.
Prayer
Lord, teach me faithfulness in the small things. I want to be someone whose word is reliable, whose presence is dependable, whose character is consistent. Build in me the virtue of showing up, following through, and keeping my word—in both big things and small.
