Many Advisors, Abundant Victory

Strategy & Wisdom

Scripture

Proverbs 24:6

“Surely you need guidance to wage war, and victory is won through many advisors.”

Devotion

Warfare in ancient times required strategy, and strategy required the counsel of multiple perspectives. One person, no matter how brilliant, could not see all the angles. The same applies to every significant challenge you face: whether it is a business decision, a family crisis, a personal struggle, or a moral dilemma. The person who attempts to wage this battle alone will miss things. They will not see the trap because they do not have enough eyes. They will move in a direction that seems wise only to themselves. The person who brings together people of different experiences, perspectives, and insights is not showing weakness—they are showing wisdom. Victory is won through the convergence of multiple perspectives. This applies even more strongly to spiritual battles: we need the wisdom of the saints, the counsel of our brothers and sisters, the accountability of community.

Today’s Step

Choose one current challenge and bring it to at least two people whose judgment you respect. Listen to their perspectives before you decide.

Prayer

Lord, teach me to be a leader who seeks counsel, a fighter who moves strategically with others. Protect me from the arrogance that thinks I can win alone. Give me the wisdom to listen and the courage to follow through.
