Heart Preparation
Heart & Mind
Scripture
Proverbs 23:7
“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.”
Devotion
What you become is shaped by what you think about—not in some vague, positive-thinking sense, but literally. The internal thoughts you rehearse, the stories you tell yourself about yourself and the world, the assumptions you operate from—these become the scaffolding of your character. If you think like a victim, you will become increasingly passive. If you think like someone capable and responsible, you will develop the habits and posture that accompany that identity. This is not merely psychology; it is wisdom about the human condition. The thought precedes the action. The repeated thought becomes the belief. The belief becomes the life. This is why what you meditate on matters so much. This is why guarding your mind is a spiritual practice. You are not just entertained by your thoughts; you are being shaped by them.
Today’s Step
What thought about yourself do you rehearse most often? Write it down. Is it true? If not, what true thought could you rehearse instead?
Prayer
Lord, search my thoughts and show me where I have believed lies about myself, my limitations, or Your provision. Reshape my thinking from the inside out. Let my meditation be on what is true, and let my thoughts give birth to a life that reflects Your truth.
