The Foundation of Trust

Faith & Reliance

Scripture

Psalm 37:3-5

“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this.”

Devotion

Trust is not passive; it is active reliance on God while doing your part. You cannot control outcomes, but you can control effort and attitude. Scripture teaches that we are to do good, trust in the Lord, and commit our way to Him. Trust means doing your best and then releasing the results to God. It means not worrying about tomorrow but being fully engaged with today. It means building your life on the foundation of faith that God is good and trustworthy.

Today’s Step

What are you trying to control that is not yours to control? Release it to God. Do your part; let Him do His.

Prayer

God, help me to trust You deeply. Help me to do my part while releasing the outcomes to You. Help me to not worry about tomorrow but to be fully engaged with today. Help me to build my life on the foundation of faith in You.
