Living in the Present
Now & Acceptance
Scripture
Philippians 4:5-7
“Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Devotion
This moment is where life happens. Anxiety projects us into imagined futures; regret anchors us in unchangeable pasts. Scripture teaches that the Lord is near—right now, in this moment. When you release anxiety and choose gratitude, peace becomes possible. This moment is all you truly have. This breath. This conversation. This task. This stillness. When you give your full attention to the now, you experience God's presence and peace. Let go of what you cannot control. Be fully here.
Today’s Step
For the next hour, intentionally be present to now. Notice what is happening right now. Let go of past and future. Experience the peace of this present moment.
Prayer
God, help me to be fully present in this moment. Help me to release anxiety about tomorrow and regret about yesterday. Help me to experience Your presence now. Guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Let peace be my reality.
