Seeking Wisdom
Wisdom & Discernment
Scripture
James 1:5
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
Devotion
God does not begrudge you wisdom. Scripture teaches that God gives generously to all who ask. This is remarkable: wisdom is available for the asking. You do not need to pretend to have all the answers. You do not need to figure everything out alone. When you acknowledge your lack of wisdom and humbly ask God, wisdom is given. This is not magical thinking but practical truth: when you seek wisdom from God—through prayer, Scripture, counsel, observation, reflection—you receive it. Make seeking wisdom a daily practice. Ask God. Listen. Apply what you learn.
Today’s Step
What do you need wisdom about? Ask God for it specifically. Then listen—through Scripture, counsel, quiet reflection, or unexpected insights. Watch for wisdom arriving.
Prayer
God, I ask for wisdom. I acknowledge that I do not have all the answers. I need Your guidance. Give me wisdom generously. Help me to recognize it when it comes. Help me to apply it faithfully.
