Courage to Begin
Bravery & Action
Scripture
Joshua 1:9
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Devotion
Courage is not the absence of fear but the willingness to act despite fear. Scripture teaches that God commands us to be courageous, and He promises His presence. There is something you are called to do, something you have been putting off because of fear. Today could be the day you begin. Beginning is the hardest part. Once you start, momentum builds. Once you take the first step, the next becomes easier. God is with you. You are not alone. Be courageous. Begin today.
Today’s Step
What have you been afraid to start? Identify the first small step. Today, take that step. Do not wait for courage to arrive—act courageously.
Prayer
God, give me courage. Help me to not be paralyzed by fear. Help me to remember Your presence and Your promises. Help me to take the first step toward what You are calling me to do. Be with me as I begin.
