Courage in Difficulty

Bravery & Action

Scripture

2 Timothy 1:7

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and a sound mind.”

Devotion

When difficulty comes, you have a choice: shrink back in fear or lean into the challenge with courage. Scripture teaches that you have been given a Spirit of power, love, and a sound mind—not timidity. This means you have resources for facing difficulty. Courage is not fearlessness but faithfulness. It is continuing despite the difficulty, not because you are not afraid but because what you are fighting for matters more than your fear. When you face hardship with courage, you develop resilience, character, and faith. You become stronger.

Today’s Step

What difficulty are you currently facing? How can you lean into it with courage rather than shrink back? Today, take one courageous action toward the difficulty.

Prayer

God, give me courage in difficulty. Help me to lean in rather than pull back. Help me to remember that You give power, love, and a sound mind—not cowardice. Help me to be faithful and strong.
