Suffering Produces Glory
Trials & Character
Scripture
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.”
Devotion
Pain is temporary; glory is eternal. Scripture teaches that our present sufferings are producing future glory. This does not mean dismissing pain or pretending difficulty is not real. It means understanding that suffering is not pointless. It is producing something. It is creating spiritual weight, maturity, and eternal significance. When you can see your suffering as producing glory, it gains meaning. The pain does not disappear, but it becomes purposeful.
Today’s Step
How might your current suffering be producing eternal glory? What spiritual growth is it creating? Today, view your pain as purposeful.
Prayer
God, help me to see my suffering in light of eternity. Help me to understand that my present troubles are producing eternal glory. Help me to not lose heart. Help me to see that my pain has purpose and significance.
