Scripture
1 Peter 4:12-13
“Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.”
Devotion
Suffering connects you to Christ. When you experience pain, you participate in His redemptive suffering. You are not separate from His story but part of it. Scripture teaches that difficulty is not an accident but an opportunity to join Christ in His work. This transforms suffering. It is no longer merely painful but meaningful. It is no longer meaningless but redemptive. Your suffering contributes to God's larger purposes in the world.
Today’s Step
How could your suffering participate in Christ's redemptive work? What kingdom purpose might it serve? Today, offer your pain to God for His purposes.
Prayer
God, help me to see my suffering as participation in Christ's redemptive work. Help me to offer my pain for kingdom purposes. Help me to not waste suffering but to let it accomplish good in me and through me.
