Post-Christmas Reflection
Integration & Wholeness
Scripture
Luke 2:19
“But Mary treasured all these things in her heart and pondered them.”
Devotion
Christmas Day passes. The celebration ends. The busyness decreases. There is space to pause. This is the moment Mary practiced: treasuring and pondering. Not rushing to the next thing. Not forgetting what happened. But letting the experience settle, integrate, teach you. What did Christmas reveal? How did it change you? What did you notice about yourself, about others, about what matters? Who did you encounter? What touched you? What surprised you? Mary held these things. Let them work on her. Allowed them to deepen her understanding. You are invited to do the same. In the aftermath of Christmas—whatever your experience was—pause and ponder. If Christmas was joyful, hold that joy. Let it teach you what genuine celebration feels like. If Christmas was difficult, hold that difficulty. Let it teach you about resilience, about what truly matters, about who you need near you. If Christmas was mixed—both joyful and hard—hold both. This is the fullness of human experience. Allow all of it to teach you. Treasuring and pondering does not mean getting stuck in the past. It means allowing past experience to shape who you are becoming. It means integrating your journey. As you move toward the end of the year, practice Mary's discipline. Hold what has been. Reflect on it. Let it transform you.
Today’s Step
Reflect on Christmas. What do you want to treasure and ponder? What will you allow to change you?
Prayer
God, help me to treasure and ponder my Christmas experience. Help me to let it teach me. Help me to integrate what I have experienced. Help me to allow past to shape my future.
