Final Week: Looking Back
Review & Gratitude
Scripture
Psalm 107:1
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
Devotion
The year is almost complete. The final week begins. This is the perfect moment to look back. Not with judgment but with genuine reflection. What happened this year? Who did you meet? What did you learn? Where did you grow? Where did you struggle? Where did grace appear? The entire year from January through December has been a journey. You have lived 363 days. You have faced challenges and celebrated victories. You have been shaped by circumstances, relationships, and choices. You have been met by grace in visible and invisible ways. The spiritual practice of looking back is not nostalgia but integration. You are gathering your year. You are recognizing patterns. You are seeing God's hand even in difficulty. You are acknowledging growth even when it was painful. This practice of comprehensive gratitude changes how you move forward. Rather than ending the year feeling like you failed or that the year was wasted, you see your year whole. You recognize its value. You see yourself as someone who survived, who learned, who grew, who was loved, who loved others. This is worth celebrating. This is worth gratitude. As the year closes, look back. Give thanks not just for the good but for the whole. Give thanks for learning through difficulty. Give thanks for resilience. Give thanks for another year of life. Give thanks for who you have become through it all.
Today’s Step
Reflect on 2025. What happened? What did you learn? What are you grateful for?
Prayer
God, thank You for this year. Thank You for every part of it—joy and struggle, growth and rest, connection and solitude. Help me to see my year whole and be grateful for it. Help me to carry forward what I have learned.
