Final Week: Loving Fiercely
Love & Connection
Scripture
1 Peter 1:22
“Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart.”
Devotion
Peter invites fierce, deep, genuine love. Not surface-level niceness. Not transactional relationship. But authentic, vulnerable, wholehearted love. As the year ends, this is the invitation: Love deeply. Tell people what they mean to you. Do not wait for a future moment to be genuine. Do not assume people know how much they matter. Say it. Show it. Be vulnerable enough to let people know they have shaped your life, that you are grateful for them, that you love them. This is not weakness. This is courage. This is the kind of love that changes the world—not grand gestures, but genuine presence and authentic care. Love your family—even the difficult ones. Love your friends. Love the strangers who smile at you. Love the person whose work helps you. Love the people who have hurt you enough to release them with blessing. Love yourself—enough to care for your body, your heart, your spirit. Love God—in gratitude, in trust, in surrender. Peter speaks of purifying ourselves by obeying the truth. The truth is that love matters most. Everything else is secondary. As the year closes, let love be your focus. Let love guide your remaining days. Let love move you forward into the new year. Let love be who you are becoming.
Today’s Step
Who needs to hear that you love them? Can you tell them? Can you love someone fiercely today?
Prayer
God, help me to love deeply and genuinely. Help me to be vulnerable. Help me to tell people what they mean to me. Help love to guide my final days of the year.
