Completion and Beginning
Wholeness & Integration
Scripture
Psalm 33:11
“But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.”
Devotion
This year of devotion completes. But it is not an ending. It is a completion and a beginning simultaneously. This is the nature of spiritual life: Each ending opens into a new beginning. Each completion is a stage in an ongoing journey. You have completed 365 days of devotional reading. You have read Scripture. You have reflected. You have prayed. You have practiced spiritual disciplines. These 365 days are complete. But the spiritual practices you have learned continue. The growth you have begun continues. The transformation God is doing in you continues. You move from this year into the next not because you are done but because you are continuing. The plans of God stand firm. Not just for one year but through all generations. Your life is part of that eternal plan. Your growth is part of God's larger purposes. Your continued transformation in the year to come is part of God's design. As this year ends and another begins, hold both truths: This is complete. And this is just the beginning. You have finished this year. You have only started your spiritual journey. Be satisfied with what you have accomplished. And be hungry for what is to come. Rest in completion. And prepare for the next chapter. Trust that God's purposes for you are not finished. They continue. They deepen. They move toward fulfillment in ways you cannot yet see. This is the invitation as 2025 becomes 2026: Honor the completion. Receive the beginning. Trust in the one whose purposes stand firm through all generations.
Today’s Step
How will you honor the completion of this devotional year? How will you prepare for what comes next?
Prayer
God, thank You for completing this year with me. Thank You for all I have learned and become. Help me to receive the beginning of what is next. Help me to continue trusting in Your purposes. Help me to keep becoming.
