Days of Reflection
Contemplation & Wisdom
Scripture
Proverbs 27:12
“The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.”
Devotion
Proverbs speaks of prudence: wisdom is seeing, reflecting, preparing. In this final stretch of the year, practice prudence. Reflect on what you have learned. See patterns. Understand danger—not to be afraid, but to be wise. Understand where you have thrived and where you have struggled. Understand what nourishes you and what depletes you. Understand who brings out your best self and who triggers your worst. This reflection is not critical judgment. This is wisdom. This is preparing for the next chapter. Many people finish a year without reflection and repeat the same patterns in the next year. Prudent people reflect and learn. They adjust. They prepare. They take refuge not in fear but in wisdom. As you move into the final days, take time for reflection. What do you see? What have you learned? What will you do differently? This reflection itself is a spiritual practice. It is you saying: I care about my life. I want to grow. I want to be wise. I want to learn. This is a powerful posture to carry into the new year.
Today’s Step
Reflect: What is one pattern you see in your life this year? What will you do differently?
Prayer
God, help me to reflect wisely. Help me to see patterns and learn. Help me to be prudent and prepare. Help me to carry wisdom forward.
