Stories Carried Forward

Legacy & Witness

Scripture

2 Timothy 2:2

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”

Devotion

The apostle Paul invites Timothy to carry stories forward. The gospel is not transmitted through books alone but through people. Through the stories you tell. Through the witness you give. Through what you pass on. The year that is ending is not just your year to live and then forget. It is a chapter in your story that you carry forward. The people who have been part of your year will carry forward the imprint of having known you. The love you have given will echo. The kindness you have shown will be remembered. The faith you have demonstrated will inspire. You are a carrier of stories. You carry stories of God's faithfulness from the past into the future. You carry stories of grace and redemption. You carry stories of struggle and resilience. These stories matter. They teach others. They inspire faith. They show what is possible. As this year ends, recognize: You are a storyteller. Your life is a story being told. The question is: What story are you telling? What kind of witness are you giving? What legacy are you creating through how you live? These are not insignificant questions. They shape not just your life but the lives of those around you and those who come after. Tell a good story. Live a story worth telling.

Today’s Step

What story from this year would you want to pass on to others? What witness have you given?

Prayer

God, help me to tell a good story with my life. Help me to carry forward the stories of Your faithfulness. Help me to be a witness that inspires faith. Help me to live in a way that is worth passing on.
