Spring Strength
Power & Renewal
Scripture
2 Timothy 2:1
“You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”
Devotion
Strength is not self-generated; it flows from God's grace. In spring's season of renewal, you can feel the strength of new growth, the power of resurrection, the force of life breaking through winter's hardness. This is not metaphor but reality happening around you. The same power that raises dead seeds into blooming flowers is available to you. Your strength comes not from your circumstances or your willpower but from your connection to Christ. When you feel weak, you are often closest to accessing real strength—God's strength. The Stoics taught that we have less control than we think over external circumstances but complete control over how we respond. True strength is responding with virtue regardless of circumstance.
Today’s Step
Where do you need strength? Rather than relying on willpower, turn to Christ. What does it look like to be "strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus" in this situation?
Prayer
God of strength, fill me with the power of Your grace. Help me to draw strength not from my circumstances but from You. As this season brings renewal and energy, help me to channel it toward spiritual growth and virtue. Let me be strong in faith, strong in love, strong in service.
